Collaborative Law - The positive way to divorce

Collaborative Law is a new and different way to resolve disputes arising from family separation and divorce.

Frequently when couples separate they each go to their separate solicitors to try to reach a negotiated settlement about children and finances, but if those negotiations fail, then it is left to the courts to decide. This process can often be expensive, time consuming, uncertain and emotionally draining.

Collaborative law is an alternative approach involving specially trained solicitors to work with you to resolve the dispute and reach a settlement as quickly as possible. Collaborative law is unique as it incorporates a commitment from each solicitor not to go to court but rather to assist each family to reach the best solution in each case in a way that is less acrimonious and more constructive. Each person has their own solicitor throughout and will receive independent legal advice. Each person has control of the process setting the agenda and pace of the process. Communication and negotiations are achieved quickly by way of a series of 4 way meetings with the aim of resolving the issues you raise.

For more information please contact Ann Hume, Collaboratively Trained Solicitor on 01827 317078.
