Pickerings family law team were joined by the barristers Matthew Maynard and Adem Mufazzer of St Ives Chambers Family Law Group, who delivered a valuable update on surrogacy law.
To an audience of lawyers, guardians and fertility specialists, Matthew began by explaining the current law in relation to surrogacy,whilst Adem went on to highlight how the law has been interpreted to reach recent judgements.
Topics covered included good practice, time limits,fertility clinics,single parents and payments as well as what happens when things go wrong in surrogacy cases.
