Kate Pearce

Kate Pearce is a Director of Pickerings and Head of the Commercial & Residential Property Team. 

Following qualification as a solicitor in 2000, Kate has specialised in property matters throughout her career. 

Kates has a strong and loyal client base of land-owners and developers, some with significant portfolios. A highly trusted advisor, for many years she has acted for the landlord of a major retail park. The tenants on the retail park are national household names and Kate ably holds her own with the solicitors acting for them, who are invariably from large national or international law firms.

She regularly undertakes work for landowners and developers on transactions related to development, both commercial and residential. She is proficient in negotiating conditional contracts, promotion agreements, options and overage agreements. 

Kate also completes sale and purchase transactions for pension funds, provides corporate support on company restructures and acts for charities on commercial property matters.

She has considerable experience in significant and complex high-value sale and purchase transactions of commercial real estate, with a thorough understanding of funding arrangements and requirements..  

Kate also continues to act for a number of clients on high value agricultural matters, clients value her pragmatic approach and sector-specific knowledge.

She has a meticulous approach and consistently strives to get the best outcome for her clients. Her strong interpersonal skills have allowed her to build and maintain solid working relationships with clients, project managers, surveyors and architects to enable transactions to move forward or, as knotty issues arise, to try and find a resolution and move forward in a pragmatic and effective way.

Kate has a comprehensive understanding of the regional landscape and the businesses she serves. Known for her meticulous yet practical approach, she excels in finding workable solutions to challenging issues, demonstrating a keen understanding of complex legal matters.

In Landlord and Tenant matters, Kate has a proven track record in handling high value and complex transactions. This involves negotiating conditional agreements for leases, leases themselves and ancillary transactional documentation. Kate prepares construction documents specific to these transactions.

Kate’s opinion is often sought by colleagues from the litigation team on property litigation matters. Her versatility and extensive experience make her a valuable asset to the firm and a trusted advisor for her clients.
