Joanna Robson

Joanna has specialised exclusively in employment law since qualifying as a Solicitor in 2004.  Prior to joining Pickerings Solicitors in October 2023, her career spanned over working for a law firm in the City of London, followed by large regional law firms in the East Midlands, including Freeth Cartwright and Sydney Mitchell. 

She also ran her own bespoke employment law practice for 13 years where she specialised in contentious discrimination law cases, particularly in relation to pregnancy, maternity and family friendly work rights.  During this time, Joanna featured on a number of expert advice panels, alongside market leaders, of maternity related publications.
 
Joanna has significant experience in representing clients in many different industry sectors including but not limited to financial services, corporate finance, manufacturing, legal services, automotive, hospitality, public sector and tourism. 
 
Joanna is successful and technically strong. She has commercial acumen and an excellent reputation for being prompt, concise and responsive to client needs.  She is professional with an expert mind in all aspects of employment law.  Joanna also takes pro-active steps to gain greater knowledge of her clients’ businesses, which enables her to better understand what is required and to offer bespoke and tailored advice to them.   Such advice, support and representation extends to corporate businesses, SMEs and private individuals, which can range from a junior employee through to a CEO at Board Level.  Joanna also delivers regular seminars and workshops to a diverse audience on a wide range of employment law topics. 

Joanna’s particular interests include advising on equality rights and policies in the workplace, post termination restrictive covenants and negotiating on terms of Settlement Agreements.  She also works closely with the corporate team at Pickerings Solicitors in offering advice to clients on TUPE implications for those corporate businesses undergoing a merger and acquisition process. 

Joanna has a reputation for offering sound, jargon-free commercial advice and feedback suggests she takes pride in her work and fully grasps an understanding of the needs of the clients.   

Joanna also features as a speaker at Pickerings Solicitors Employment Law Breakfast Seminar hosted bi-annually.
