Employment Team 

The employment practice at Pickerings Solicitors is led by Jonathon Forrester, a solicitor advocate who acts for numerous employers and employees. In addition to its large corporate client base it also advises individuals on all aspects of employment law from disciplinary issues to advising directors on post-termination restrictions. Other strengths include advising on redundancies, TUPE, the unfair deduction of wages as well as whistleblowing claims. Sue Hatton covers all aspects of the employment process from recruitment and selection through to dealing with dismissal.

Family Team

The family team at Pickerings Solicitors is led jointly by Susan Davies and Richard Westley. Davies is equipped to handle all aspects of divorce and separation and is a collaboratively trained lawyer. She regularly deals with high-net-worth matrimonial cases (often where businesses and pensions are involved) in addition to pre-and post-nuptial agreements. Westley leads the children team and has particular expertise in public law proceedings. The group is often instructed by the children’s guardians to act in the most serious and complex cases.

Personal Tax Trust and Probate Team

The practice at Pickerings Solicitors handles the full array of private client matters with Emma Harrison at the helm. Three of the solicitors are full members of STEP and two are members of the Solicitors for the Elderly. Lucy Cooling specialises in wills and probate, tax and estate planning. Marie Tisdale, who joined from Ansons, is particularly experienced in the administration of high-value probates.
