Director and Head of Property Sue Albini will retire from Pickerings Solicitors at the end of May 2023, having dedicated 27 and a half years to the firm.

Since joining as a trainee solicitor in 1995, Sue has helped the firm evolve, expanding from a small firm based at Colehill to the large, award-winning practice it has become today. During this time the firm has won multiple awards and achieved professional recognition with Lexcel and CQS accreditation.

From an early stage in her legal career, Sue developed a passion and considerable talent for Commercial Property work. She has been instrumental in building up the Commercial Property practice with the reputation and stature it has today with its team of 7 lawyers.

Since 2011 Sue has featured in the Legal 500, a directory of leading law firms and in recent years has been recognised as a ‘Leading Individual’. She has established herself as an expert in development work and has advised on many complicated transactions, relating to development sites, both locally and across the UK, some involving household names. Clients will miss both her legal expertise, commercially focussed advice and pragmatic approach.

Over the years Sue has also been involved in the wider business community, including as a founder member of Tamworth Business Breakfast Club, which was established in 1997 and is still running in 2023.

Following Sue’s departure Kate Pearce will head up the Commercial Property Team.  Kate and Sue have worked together for over 16 years. Kate, who has been qualified for 22 years,  is recommended in the Legal 500,  is also an expert in dealing with high value complex transactions and is looking forward to continuing to advise and support the firm’s long standing, new and future clients with the Commercial Property Team

Sue Albini said: “While I will miss the people I have worked with, both clients and colleagues I’m looking forward to retirement happy in the knowledge that my colleagues in the team will continue to provide an excellent service to our clients."
